How alarms work
What helps your alarm ring, and its limits. The Terms of Use (Section 8) control.
Best: leave the App open in Sleep mode
With the App open in Sleep mode and the phone on the charger, the alarm rings inside the App with your chosen sound and a gentle rise in volume.
If the App is closed
You get a notification at the alarm time with the phone's notification sound. On iPhone, silent mode, Do Not Disturb, Focus, or Sleep can make it quiet or silent, and the notification sound is short.
Before an important day
- Allow notifications for Sunbell.
- Check that the volume is up and the phone is charged.
- Do not force-quit the App.
- Test your alarm.
- Also set your phone's built-in Clock alarm as a backup.
Do not use it as your only alarm when it really matters
Like any app, Sunbell can fail because of the phone, the system, settings, or an error. For medication, caring for someone, flights, exams, work, or anything where being late can cause harm, always use a backup alarm.
